GGBC joins Buffalo Bisons at O’Hara Clinic

Tonawanda, NY - Gold Glove Baseball Camp Director Don Fontana joined former Buffalo Bisons pitchers Andrew Brown (Oakland A’s) and Jeremy Guthrie (Baltimore Orioles) along with former Bisons infielder Lou Merloni and current outfielder Jason Cooper at Cardinal O’Hara High School for a one day free baseball clinic for local youth on Tuesday August 8th  (2006). “This was a great opportunity to work with the kids and give them some insight as to what players who have been or will be in the big leagues do to prepare and play at a very high level,” said Fontana. “I’m grateful to Joe Ciffa (Bisons team chaplain/Cardinal O’Hara Director of Development) for allowing me to participate and be a part of this great event.”
     Organized by Bisons team chaplain Joe Ciffa at the request of the players, the clinic allowed the participants to learn baseball fundamentals from current Bisons and also hear the players discuss the role that their Christian faith plays in their lives.  (Go to Photo Gallery)
